Little Moments: For the Orthodox Home [Prayer Cards - Parent's Edition]
This set of cards is a simple, spiritual tool that will center yourself and your Little Church close in Christ before beginning the busyness of the day.
In this “Parent’s Edition,” Each card has three sections:
HYMN: Which will encourage you to read and listen to a Kontakion or Ikos from the Akathist to the Mother of God, Nurturer of Children.
MEMORIZE: Each morning, you’ll read and practice a memory verse from the Psalms. Pull out the memory verse card and place it in your prayer corner, or in a prominent place where you’ll see it often. By the end of this study, your family will have memorized various Psalms of the Church. “By memorizing, we make the words of Scripture part of ourselves.”
READ: Each card contains a Bible passage to study and discern, as well as a chosen spiritual quote on the topic of parenting and the raising of children. Our father from among the Saints, St. John Chrysostom states: “When you immerse your mind and heart in spiritual writings, you will always be filled, for spiritual reading gives you a foundation in God” (Third Homily on Lazarus).
So, altogether in your Little Church, study the Hymns, memorize the Psalms, and Read the Word and the writings of our Elders for 40 days…
